Alice Min Soo Chun

Co-Founder & CEO

Alice Min Soo Chun is Chief Executive Officer and inventor of all Solight products.  Alice has been a professor in Architecture and Materials Technology at Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, Parsons School of Design, and a lecturer at Yale, MIT, and Harvard, as well as former Director of the Materials Resource Lab at The New School. She is the patent holder for Solar Light Assembly and Inflatable Solar Light. When Haiti was struck by a devastating earthquake, Alice turned her studio at Columbia University into an innovation lab to develop solutions to help Haiti, resulting in SolarPuff™. She has built award-winning community outreach projects, been published in The New York Times, Architectural Record, Dwell, and The Journal of Architectural Education. Her book, GROUND RULES in Humanitarian Design (Wiley Press 2015) is an anthology for design principles and strategies for long term sustainability.

Stacy Kelly

Co-Founder & COO

Stacy Kelly is a Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Solight Design™. Stacy has the dual role of being responsible for managing the manufacturing and shipment of our products while also developing strategic business relationships. Solight Design™ is Stacy’s third entrepreneurial venture. She sold her first to American Health Magazine. In 2007, Stacy founded her second venture, Mobile Previews, a mash-up of mobile video streaming, SMS alerts, sharing and polling in one mobile application. In between start-ups Stacy worked as a publisher for some of the largest media companies in the world, such as ABC, Disney, Reed Elsevier, Entrepreneur Media and Advanstar across a variety of markets and digital platforms, including: entertainment, toys and licensing. It was as publisher of Entrepreneur’s Business Start-Up that she realized that her real passion is in starting and helping new businesses find their markets and build out their sales and business development strategies. Stacy received her MBA from San Francisco State University and her undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut.

Viney Sharma

VP Intl Business

Viney Sharma is Vice President of Africa and India Business Development. Viney is responsible for creating business revenue from microeconomic models to large scale distribution networks. His efforts resulted in $20 million in sales per year for India alone. In Africa, he has scaled businesses in 20 countries, resulting in $50 million in revenue. His focus includes creating a team of country managers in Africa and India, training, building business models and guiding teams to increase scale of distribution to new levels. Through his work, Viney has already impacted 50 million people who have no access to electricity.
