Earth Hour- Join the world's largest grassroots movement to save our planet!

30 March, 8:30pm your time where ever you are

Every year millions of people, businesses and landmarks worldwide set aside an hour to turn off their lights for the Earth Hour on March 30th at 8:30PM.

Starting as a symbolic lights out event in Sydney in 2007, Earth Hour is now the world's largest grassroots movement for the environment, inspiring millions of people to take action for our planet and nature and letting the world know that climate change is real and that together we can make a monumental shift.

What impact can turning off a light for 1 hour make? To put this in perspective in 2007 around 19% of all electricity generated was used for lighting purposes which is a very significant proportion. This means that a reduction in energy consumption in lighting has a major impact on overall CO2 emissions.

However, you don’t need to be in the dark. Solight Design is celebrating by turning off all of the lights in our homes, offices and building that are connected to the grid and replacing them with our SolarPuffs™. SolarPuffs™ are 100% solar powered and will light up a 10X10 room while emitting no CO2 emissions.  We are joining the movement, but we won’t be left in the dark.
